![]() ![]() It becomes frustrating quickly, as every path and house is blocked off just because the main character says that it’s not the time to do so, like he would know anyway. This means that there’s merely an illusion of an open world until a certain point in the storyline when areas and events become unlocked. To say that Zenonia 3’s expansive world and plethora of activities to partake in it, like mining, crafting items, collecting fairy companions and raising them, and even dueling in player versus player battles, isn’t restrictive would be lying, considering most of the game world is limited to certain locales based on story progress. Selecting from one of four distinct classes, the warrior, ranger, magician, and gunner classes, players set off on their journey in the expansive world of Midgard to partake in storyline quests, side quests, fetch quests, and, of course, hours upon hours of monster slaying. Zenonia 3’s uninteresting and convoluted storyline makes up for some laughs occasionally, but most players will want to skip the overly-long dialogue to get to the action. The classes provide some variety, but only mildly so. Unlike that loveable classic, however, Zenonia 3 falls flat despite its heavy amount of content, thanks to uninspiring and repetitious gameplay that we’ve all seen and played before. Like Queen’s Crown, Iniotia 3, Wild Frontier, and Demon Hunter before it, this latest iPhone hack 'n slash borrows heavily from the glory days of Nintendo, specifically from The Legend of Zelda from the Super Nintendo. ![]() Once again the App Store has seen a slew of new, bite-sized Korean role-playing games with Zenonia 3 heading the Eastern charge. ![]()
